# About LoWisa

> LoWisa is an AI learning company building a desktop IDE with a live tutor and a mobile learning app, made to prevent AI dependency by helping people understand, debug and own what they build.

LoWisa is an AI learning company. We build a desktop IDE with a live AI tutor inside it, and a mobile app that teaches the same way, for one purpose: so that people who build with AI can still understand, debug and own what they ship.

## Why LoWisa exists

AI can now generate a working application faster than a person can read one. That is genuinely good, and it created a gap nobody was responsible for closing.

The gap is not about typing code. It is about ownership: whether the person holding the software can explain its architecture, predict how it fails, change it safely and answer for it when something goes wrong at scale. Generated code arrives complete, with the reasoning discarded, which is exactly the part a person needed.

The visible symptoms are the sentences we built the product around. **AI built it, but I do not understand it. I copied code but cannot explain it. The project broke and I do not know where to start. I want to become confident, not dependent.**

## What we make

### The LoWisa IDE

A full desktop IDE for Windows 10+, macOS 12+, Ubuntu 20.04+, with file explorer, editor and terminal, and a tutor that takes an active part in the work. It talks with you in real voice, opens your files, highlights the lines that matter, draws the system on a whiteboard, runs terminal commands beside you, and checks that you can explain what you built. Everything risky happens in a safe sandbox copy of your project.

### The LoWisa phone app

The same teaching, lesson by lesson, on Google Play. Structured paths for careers, programming languages and industrial systems, or any topic you name, with the tutor writing and speaking every lesson. Learning cohorts let a creator plan lessons, set the day's work and run contests for a group, and Clock it is a shared feed where learners post what they discovered about AI.

## What makes it different

- **It teaches rather than generates.** The measure of a session is what you can do afterwards, not how many lines appeared.
- **It works on your real project.** Not a tutorial repository. The lesson is the system you are actually shipping.
- **It uses evidence.** Claims are checked with commands in your terminal, so you learn from what happened rather than from what sounded right.
- **It is safe to break.** Learning needs experiments and ownership means you cannot afford them, so the sandbox carries the risk instead of your project.
- **It ends with a check.** The session is finished when you can explain the system, not when the code compiles.

## What we will not do

- We will not quietly answer as a different model than the one you chose. If a request cannot be served, LoWisa says so.
- We will not touch your original project to teach you. Experiments happen on a copy.
- We will not sell understanding you did not earn. The tutor can show you a fix, but you implement it.

## Who LoWisa is for

- **Beginners and students** who want to learn by building real, working software rather than exercises.
- **Juniors and career changers** closing the distance between shipping code and defending it in an interview.
- **Founders and indie hackers** who move fast with AI and still need to trust the system in production.
- **Developers inheriting AI-generated code** who have to own something they did not write.
- **Mentors, teachers and interview candidates**, who use the same walkthroughs for sessions and preparation.

## How it is paid for

Downloading is free and starts with 20 credits, awarded once on first install. LoWisa Starter is $8 a month with 200 credits included, LoWisa Plus is $11 a month with 500 credits included. A credit is one cent of AI, billed at exact provider cost.

Reading, drills and practice never spend credits. Tutor answers, lessons written for you and the studio voice do. On the phone, the same two plans are billed through the app store. A subscription follows the person: subscribe in the IDE and activate on the phone with the same email.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is LoWisa in one sentence?

LoWisa is a desktop IDE with a live AI tutor built in, and a phone app that teaches the same way, so you can understand, debug and own real projects, including the ones AI wrote for you.

### Is LoWisa a code assistant?

No. Assistants produce code for you. LoWisa teaches you to understand and own it, and checks the result by asking you to explain the system and prove it with commands.

### Does LoWisa require an AI provider key?

No. Both plans include the tutor with no key and no setup. Bringing your own provider account is possible as a $10 a month platform subscription.

### Which platforms does LoWisa run on?

The IDE runs on Windows 10+, macOS 12+, Ubuntu 20.04+. The phone app is on Google Play.

### How do I get support?
