Updates
LoWisa downloads updates in the background and applies them when you click Restart to update. To check now, choose Help → Check for Updates. Every release is listed in the changelog.
Common problems
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Access denied" when reading a file | LoWisa blocks credential folders (such as .ssh and .aws) and paths outside your home and workspace. Open the folder with File → Open Folder to grant access. |
| The microphone does not work | Allow microphone access for LoWisa in your system settings. If the message says a key is missing, voice input needs an OpenAI or Groq key; you can always type instead. |
| No reply, or a model error | Check the line under the model list in the chat panel. LoWisa shows the real error instead of switching you to another model; see Models and API keys. |
| Out of credits | Choose a plan or a top-up, or press I already subscribed and enter the email you subscribed with. |
What stays on your machine
- Your project stays on your computer. When you ask the tutor something, only what that request needs is sent to the model.
- API keys you add are kept in your operating system keychain.
- If LoWisa hits an error, a report with the error message, the app version and your operating system is sent to LoWisa so it can be fixed. It does not contain your code.
